REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 28 , 1992 _ PAGE 13 4 5 6 7 The Mayor requested some vigilance on the part of the 8 Fire Department staff to anticipate the purchase of large 9 pieces of equipment for the Department . He felt these 10 should be budgeted for before they were in .a position of 11 need and the funds may not be available . 12 13 Use of the large fire truck has been decreased . The 14 policy is never take the large truck out for only one 15 purpose . The Chief noted that cars are used more than the 16 truck . 17 18 The City Manager stated that a five year capital 19 equipment budget is being proposed. Two vehicles -in the 20 Fire Department are twenty years old . 21 22 Enrooth questioned why there appears to be increased 23 activity on Monday . The Chief responded that the level of 24 activi.ty is dependent on human activity. 25 26 Enrooth inquired if 'more medical training is needed for the firefighters . The Chief responded that is happening _ already and has been increasing for some time. 29 30 The Chief observed that the neighboring fire departments 31 have called on the St . Anthony Fire Department for 32 assistance more often than the reverse . 33 34 Mayor Ranallo noted that many favorable comments are 35 received regarding the Fire Department . The Chief felt 36 the residents have a considerable amount of confidence in 37 those who give service. 38 39 40 B . PUBLIC HEARINGS 41 42 There were no public hearings . 43 44 45 9 . NEW BUSINESS 46 47 A. Quotations for Road Materials and Water Department 48 Supplies for 1992 49 50 A memo was received from the Public Works Director with 51 recommendations for road materials and Water Department supplies for 1992 . The City Manager advised they are all low bids . 4
