Merchandise displays in windows shall not be <br /> 3 considered a part of the sign area if such display is not intended to be continued for <br /> 4 a period of more than 8 weeks. <br /> 5 Subd. 8. ON-SITE TEMPORARY SUBDIVISION SIGNS: One on-site temporary <br /> 6 sign advertising a group of lots for sale within a subdivision or group of houses for <br /> 7 sale within a housing project, provided that the total area of such sign shall not <br /> 8 exceed 64 square feet with no single dimension in excess of 16 feet. The display of <br /> 9 such sign shall be limited to a 6-month period. At the expiration of such.period, the <br /> 10 applicant may request a further extension of time, otherwise the sign must be <br /> 11 removed. <br /> 12 Subd. 9. TEMPORARY SIGNS, OTHER THAN POLITICAL SIGNS: Temporary <br /> 13 signs, other than political signs, pertaining to drives or events of civic, philanthropic, <br /> 14 educational or religious organizations, provided permission of the City Manager must <br /> 15 be obtained to erect such signs upon or over public property and provided further <br /> 16 that such signs shall not be erected or posted for a period of more than 14 days prior <br /> 17 to the date of the event and must be removed within 3 days after the event.
