• MEMORANDUM DATE: November 19, 1996 TO: Planning Commission FROM: Kim Moore-Sykes, Management Assistant ITEM: CUB Foods Signs I received revised signage plans for CUB Foods from Rick Palmateer of Universal Signs, which are attached. He indicated that the dimensions of the main sign are larger than originally planned for because the sign standards have changed for this sign. CUB Foods is requesting an amendment to the original sign plan to accommodate this change. CUB Foods will also need an amendment for their 24-Hour Savings Sign. The increased dimensions of this sign are not as great as those for the main CUB sign. The following dimensions are from the November 15, 1994 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes starting on page 18 and compared to the current proposal: • Nov, 1994 Oct, 1996 Difference Main Sign, at the Entrance: 266 SF 411 SF (approx.) < 145 SF> 24-Hour Savings Sign: 145 SF 212 SF <67 SF>. (Changed to "Low Price Leader) Pharmacy'Sign: 100 SF 72 SF 28 SF South Wall Sign: 230 SF 189 SF 41 SF Total increase of Wall Sign square footage: 143 SF. The City Council approved of the proposed sign package on November 22, 1994 (See attached)., There appears to have been no modifications requested by the Council to the CUB sign.proposal at that time as none were noted in the minutes. Bill Soth advised that if CUB is interested in increasing the signage, they can ask for an amendment to the Comprehensive Sign Plan that was approved.
