Hubmer replied that no, <br /> 2 this court is not full-sized,,but the court in Central Park is a full-sized court. <br /> 3 Jindra stated that perhaps a full-sized court is needed in Silver Point Park as well. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Morris stated that most kids would not hit softballs as far as adults would, so playgrounds <br /> 6 should be relatively safe. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Jindra asked whether a decision is needed on this matter now, or whether the Commission <br /> 9 could have a tour before deciding. <br /> 10 Morris asked if the basketball court could be placed near the parking lot, and if this would <br /> 11 be feasible during the winter. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Hartman asked whether the basketball court could be full-sized if it were fenced in. <br /> 14 Hubmer stated that no fencing could be added. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Jindra said most players using the basketball court would probably be teens, and so a full- <br /> 17 sized court may not be needed. <br /> Louiselle suggested the remaining space could.then be used.for soccer. <br /> 0 <br /> 21 Jindra stated a basketball court in Central Park should be fenced in, even though players <br /> 22 tend to be middle school to adult age. She then asked if similar demographics would <br /> 23 result in similar fencing in Silver Point Park. Louiselle agreed that this could be the same <br /> 24 situation. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Lambrecht asked if the hockey field could be used as a play area. Hubmer replied that <br /> 27 yes, it could be used but would get wet in this area as the ground is lower. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Koehntop stated the area could be'used for youth soccer since the area could be small and <br /> 30 still suitable. <br /> 31 Morris suggested the boards be taken away as walls, as a soccer field should be wider <br /> 32 than a hockey rink. He added that removing the walls would depend on where the <br /> 33 plantings are located. Morris stated that soccer could be played inside the boards as well, <br /> 34 which could save time and money on labor. He added that small-sided games could be <br /> 35 played this way. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Louiselle asked if, since this ground is lower,this area would flood periodically, and <br /> 8 whether this could affect the life of the boards. Hubmer replied that yes, allowing the <br /> boards to get wet would shorten their usefulness. <br />
