The following
activities have taken place since-the June 231 council meeting to accommodate this request:
1. A meeting was held on July 15, 1998 to receive comments on the plan from the SLHA.
2.. A letter was sent to the SLHA on July 21, 1998 to clarify the issues discussed at the
July 15'meeting, and to receive comments and recommendations for changes to the
plan which would address their concerns. This letter is attached for your information.
3. The SLHA responded to this request in a letter dated July 29', 1998. This letter is also
attached for your information.
Based on the above meeting and correspondence with the SLHA, below please find a list of their
concerns in regard to the Comprehensive Water Resource Management Plan and a response to these
concerns:
Concern: a. The completion of a Diagnostic Feasibility Report for Silver Lake should be
of high priority in the City's implementation plan.
b. The City needs to develop an implementation plan for water quality.
improvements within the Silver Lake Watershed. This plan should not be
entirely contingent upon redevelopment occurring within the watershed and
should ensure that all areas of the City tributary to Silver Lake are in
compliance with the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) water quality
requirements.
• C. The City needs to authorize the formation of a Silver Lake Water Quality Task
Force.
Infrastructure Engineers Planners
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER F.•I WPW1M 1065.001071198.hm c.wpd
