For purposes of
efficiency we suggest that the final design work for the remainder of the park be executed as one
task with the subsequent construction documents being prepared in one.last phase. We are
. considering the tennis courts and Water Tower Park as the first phase of the overall Central Park
implementation project. The second phase will consist of all the remaining facilities outlined in
the Master Plan.
The following work program outlines the tasks to be performed:
Task I. Completion of Field Surveying
The north portion of the park was surveyed by WSB in 1998 for the flood control work. The
water tower area of the park and school properties were surveyed by BRW last spring. We
propose to complete the surveying of the middle of the park in order to prepare accurate plans
and bid documents for the rest of the park design. The survey work will focus on the middle
portion of the park between the new tennis courts on the south and the new drainage area on the
north. We will also include the Civic Center building, parking lot and High School stadium area.
The data will be combined with data from the north and south portions of the park to create a
complete physical survey of Central Park.
Obtain digital site data including, property boundaries, locations of sewer, water and storm
drain utility lines, buildings, trees over 8 inches in diameter, curb and gutter and
corresponding elevations, etc.
Translate field data into a base map for accurately engineering proposed park
• improvements. Incorporate previous survey data into overall Central Park'map.
Offices Worldwide
