CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 7 Chair Jindra called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone to the meeting. <br /> 8 She wished to note for the record that the Commission had met at Water Tower Park at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 9 to review items that need to be completed. It is the Commission's intention to provide an update <br /> 10 to the City Council regarding the progress of Water Tower Park. <br /> 11 II. ROLL CALL. <br /> 12 Present: Chair Carol Jindra, Vice Chair Doug Koehntop, Commissioners George <br /> 13 Wagner, Julie Gebhardt, Colleen Hallada, Daniel Ganley. <br /> 14 Also Present: Representative from School Board(Denise Dunn); Representative from <br /> 15 Sports Boosters (George Zurbey); Public Works Director(Jay Hartman); <br /> 16 City Council Liaison(Brian Thuesen). <br /> 17 Absent: Commissioner Jan Jensen, Representative from Community Services <br /> 18 (Diana Roadfeldt). <br /> 09 III. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 14,2000 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES. <br /> 20 Motion by Koehntop, second by Wagner,to approve the minutes'of the February 14, 2000 Parks <br /> 21 Commission meeting with the following clarification: <br /> 22 Page 8, Line 10, first sentence, replace "Mr. Severson and Ms. Schober" with"the baseball and <br /> 23 soccer commissioner(s)." <br /> 24 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 25 Chair Jindra took the opportunity to introduce and welcome Denise Dunn,the School Board <br /> 26 Representative, who has been appointed to serve as a liaison to the Parks Commission. <br /> 27 IV. PRESENTATION OF DRAFT PLAN FROM HENNEPIN COUNTY PARKS. <br /> 28 Chair Jindra introduced Mr. Del Miller, Intergovernmental Relations Manager for Hennepin <br /> 29 County. By way of background. Mr. Miller stated that Hennepin Parks is an organization that <br /> 30 was set up by the Legislature in 1957. <br /> 31 Additionally, Hennepin Parks has been awarded the responsibility for acquisition, development <br /> 32 and maintenance of large park reserves, regional parks, and regional trails for the benefit and use <br /> 33 of citizens of suburban Hennepin County, Scott County, the metropolitan area, and the State of <br /> �4 Minnesota. <br />
