M I N U T E S <br /> • <br /> St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee <br /> April 13, 1982 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> High School Library <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Evelyn Holthus, Pat Beaubien, Jean Klosterman, <br /> Karen Thoreson-Quinn, Paul Rebelein, Jan Stroom <br /> and Ruth Hultgren <br /> In the absence of our President, Ruth Hultgren, the meeting was called <br /> to order at 7:05 P.M. by Secretary, Jean Klosterman. <br /> The secretary's minutes of the March 9th meeting were approved as sub- <br /> mitted to the committee. <br /> The treasurer's report was given by Karen indicating a current balance <br /> on hand of $1,076.89. Expenses incurred for distribution booklets during <br /> this past month include the following: <br /> Al Anon $ 43.90 <br /> Superintendent of Documents 60.00 <br /> Alcohol Research 175.00 <br /> $278.90 <br /> • Old Business: <br /> 1. Evelyn advised that she had been in contact with Carl Eller <br /> and a firm commitment had been established wherein,�CArl will <br /> be available to students and staff on Monday, May `from <br /> 8:30 A.M. to approximately 1:00 P.M. Two general assemblies <br /> will be set up, one for the middle school and one for the <br /> high school students. Carl will also be available for smaller <br /> group settings. <br /> A letter was drafted to be sent to twelve community organiza- <br /> tions advising them of Carl's program and requesting their <br /> financial assistance to assist in defraying the costs of this <br /> program. <br /> 2. The letter relating to "Drinking and Driving Education" was <br /> mailed on March 16th to seventeen St. Anthony organizations. <br /> 3. A letter outlining the committee's objectives and goals was <br /> mailed on April 12th to 38 professional offices and 4 local <br /> churches advising them of reading material being made available <br /> relative chemical abuse. Distribution of this material will be <br /> made between April 19th and April 24th by Pat Beaubien, Ruth <br /> Hultgren and Jan Stroom. Packets for each area were organized <br /> by the committee at the close of the meeting. <br />
