CITY OF ST. ANTHONY
REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION
----------------------------------------------------------------
• Date Submitted Type of Action Requested Agenda Item Number
Resolution
April 23 , 1982 Ordinance Unfinished Business-3
Date Action Requested X Formal Action/Motion Title Craig Morris
Other
April 27 , 1982 Council action Letter of Credit
------------------------------------------------------------------------
TO: Mayor and Councilmen
FROM: Ron Berg, Administrative Assistant
-- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --
SUMMARY DISCUSSION OF SUBJECT In 1980, the City requ i red and received a
Letter of Credit to assure the landscaping and fencing components of Craig
Morris ' barber shop were accomplished. The original fencing was proposed to be
8 foot redwood. Last November, in response to Mr. Morris' request and in con-
sideration of input from his neighbor, Mr. Lee, the Letter of Credit was
extended to .May 1st and with the requirement of a chain link fence with slats.
Mr. Morris is now constructing a homemade wooden fence (which he feels satisfies
the requirement) . I have informed him this was not the agreement and advised
him to attend the Planning Commission and Council meetings. He did not attend
the Planning Commission meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
ALTERNATIVES : Extend deadline.
RECOMMENDATION: Without further input from Mr. Morris , I see no alternative
but to cash in the Letter of Credit and contract to have a chain link fence with
slats constructed.
CITY MANAGER' S REVIEW: COMMENTS : Construction of a fence takes only
a day or so, hopefully, the parties will com-
plete it prior to May 1st. We have little
interest in cashing in if it can be avoided.
