In the past , the normal clean up time has been 10 working days. There were 1 , 111 pickups and of those there were 381 with undesirable materials , i .e. , bushes , evergreens , shrubs , metal , boards , wire, roots , etc. Of the 381 with undesirable materials , there were 1.09 instances where some or all of the pile of undesirable material was left on the curb for the resident to dispose Qf. The chipping machine broke down due to a piece of metal going through the machine. The cost of the repair was approximately $816.60. The work involved in the repair was 24 manhours , amounting to $341 .52. Sharpening the two sets of carbon' tipped blades amounted to $216.25. • FISCAL IMPACT: The branch program required a total of 608 manhours at a cost of $8,364.50. The cost of the equipment used totalled 456 hours at a cost of $5,296.00. The cost of this program for 1982 was $15,044.67, which averages $13.54 per household. ALTERNATIVES : RECOMMENDATION: Due to budget cuts and cutbacks from the State, I recommend this program be discontinued in 1983.
