ANTHONY <br /> • COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> May 25 , 1982 <br /> Mayor Sundland opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at <br /> 7 : 45 P.M. <br /> Present for roll call : Marks , Sundland, Letourneau and -Enrooth. <br /> Absent: Ranallo. <br /> Also present: Dave Childs , City .Manager; Ron Berg, Administrative <br /> Assistant; William Soth, City Attorney; and Carol <br /> Johnson, Finance Director. . <br /> The following correction was made to the minutes of the May 11th <br /> Council meeting: <br /> Page 3 , para. 2 : Identify the person who spoke as "Mayor Sundland" <br /> rather than "Councilman Enrooth" . <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> approve as , corrected the minutes of the Council meeting held May 11, <br /> 1982 . <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Included in the agenda listing of license applications was that for <br /> the carnival to be held 'the last weekend in May in the St. Anthony <br /> Shopping Center. Several calls objecting- to holding the carnival <br /> in the Center were reported and the Mayor noted that the P�lice Depart- <br /> ment had stopped the carnival crew from setting up before the Council <br /> meeting. Gary Fey , Chairman of the Merchants Association , apologized <br /> for telling the carnival they could set up earlier in the week. He <br /> said any merchant who had voiced an objection to the activity had <br /> ample opportunity to express any such concerns at the meeting where <br /> the carnival was approved by the Shopping Center Merchants Association. <br /> Art Forcier, Route 5 , St. Cloud, Minnesota, representing Gopher <br /> State Expositions , Inc. , told the Council there will be no further need <br /> for his crews to use store rest rooms since satellites have been set- <br /> up, rooms have been .taken in the Northgate , and a gas station opera- <br /> for and Mr. Fey of the Fun Center have offered to let the crew use <br /> their facilities . Mr. Forcier confirmed that the security required <br /> by the City will be provided while the carnival is in operation. <br /> Councilman Enrooth noted that the residents who had called him regard- <br /> ing the carnival had not taken him up on his invitation to discuss <br /> their concerns with the Council that evening. <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> grant a vending license to Apache Plaza Ltd. ; heating licenses to <br /> Spartan Mechanical, Inc. and Domestic Heating Co. ; a carnival license <br /> • to the St. Anthony Village Shopping Center-Gopher State Expositions <br /> for May 27-31, 1982 , and multiple dwelling licenses to Sandberg <br /> Associates for 3820 Macalaster Drive; Roscoe Smith for 3817 Macalaster <br /> Drive; Sheldon Mortenson for 3713-3800 Foss Road; and Kleinman Realty <br /> for 3200-3225 Diamond 8 Terrace , as listed in the May 25, 1982 <br /> Council agenda. <br />
