I belie',re my letter to City Manager David Childs dated December 2 , 1982 , ,7airly explains our bid on that contract . However, after attend .ng the City Council Meeting on February .8 , 1983 , I would like to provide you with some background information about myself and my partn.2r , James Doran. I have been a resident of the City of 'St. Anthony since 1951 , residing at 2504 29th Avenue N. E. I am a graduate of St . Anthony Village High School , Anoka-Ramsey Community College , College of St. Thomas , and William Mitchell College of Law. • I was a Special Assistant Attorney General in the office of Attorney General Warren Spannaus for 7' years before entering private Practice. During that 7! years , I was assigned as one of the counsel to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and to the Criminal Division of the Attorney Generals Office . During that 7' years , I Prosecuted several thousand implied consent cases in courts throughout the State of Minnesota . During that time I tried over 100 jury trials . I also took a part in working on the new D.W. I . legislation which was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 1982 . My prosecution skills and ability are known to judges , prosecutors and police officers throughout the State of Minnesota. During the time that I was a Special Assistant Attorney General , I developed a good working relationship with members of the St. Anthony Police Department. I have been in private practice in Columbia Heights since July of 1982 , and I specialize in criminal misdemeanors and traffic law. Since entering private practice-, I also serve as a part-time referee in Hennepin County Municipal Court hearing implied consent cases .
