Hair Design, Inc. <br /> 3909 Silver Lake Road, south of the townhomes. <br /> Commissioner Enrooth commented that it was his impression the Morris <br /> sign had never been considered anything but temporary, but the Com- <br /> mission spokesman told him the Commissioners recognized that the <br /> potential legal costs of having that sign removed would have to be <br /> considered, and he suggested it would be very helpful to have the City <br /> Attorney present when the Commission has to deal with that problem. <br /> Councilman Makowske reported she had noticed the Metro Systems in the <br /> office park had erected a large "moving" sign which is lit all night. <br /> She said she was happy to find out the building. would not be empty, <br /> but rather that the T. K. Gray Co. was going to expand their business <br /> into that space. The Manager indicated staff would be looking into <br /> that non-conforming sign. <br /> Councilman Enrooth commented that he had noticed a new sign going up <br /> in front of the Realty World building at 3901 Silver Lake Road. <br /> Mr. Childs indicated that signage had been approved several years ago <br /> and said the base would be provided for the sign, as agreed to when <br /> the real estate office had been granted a variance. <br /> • The March 21st staff meeting notes were ordered filed after the <br /> Manager had expanded on the reference to the increased sales in the <br /> tobacco shop in the liquor warehouse . He said the liquor manager had <br /> told staff there are 18 different tobacco blends available which are <br /> named after, and taste like , popular brands of liquor, and one blend <br /> had been especially made to carry the SAV name. Mr. Nelson expects <br /> sales to remain consistent once people become attached to a certain <br /> blend. <br /> The Mayor reported the Marketing Committee had met and set up three <br /> separate task forces for which citizens with special expertise in <br /> marketing are being sought. He said without a better response the <br /> program would die and urged each Councilman to recruit persons they <br /> know would market the City. He and the Manager have an appointment <br /> with a prominent media person who makes his home in St. Anthony, who <br /> they perceive would be a real asset to the marketing effort. <br /> The .Commander and another member of the St. Anthony Legion Post #513 <br /> were present -and Mayor Sundland congratulated them on the service to <br /> the City their organization had provided when they sponsored a very <br /> successful coming home celebration for the High School Basketball <br /> Team-who had taken third place in the -State Tournaments . The com- <br /> munity spirit demonstrated by the large number of residents who <br /> participated in the celebration Saturday afternoon, could not help <br /> but be a plus -for the City 's image, he added. <br /> Included in the agenda packet was a copy of the proposed legislation <br /> dealing with* the changes in the make-up of the Metropolitan Council . <br />
