Sidewalk Project on Silver Lane <br /> appraiser for this project is <br /> The City Manager stated that the — <br /> doing a parcel-by-parcel review of the benefit for assessment <br /> 9 purposes. This review should be completed by the end of the month. <br /> 10 He noted that there is a possibility of receiving some funding for <br /> 11 the City's portion of the assessment if the project is approved <br /> 12 from the profits from gambling funds. <br /> 13 <br /> i4 Doug Jones felt a public hearing must be held on this prcject. He noted <br /> 15 that there are a very large number of people using this area for <br /> 16 walking on Silver Lane to areas near the freeway. <br /> 17 <br /> is Mayor Ranallo met with people from New Brighton regarding the newly <br /> 19 presented plan from Ramsey County for Silver Lake Road. He noted <br /> 20 that it does include sidewalk on the St. Anthony side of Silver Lake <br /> 21 Road. Doug Jones felt a sidewalk on the south side of Silver Lane <br /> 22 would stop the erosion that is taking place in the area. The City <br /> 23 Manager advised the Council that Ramsey County representatives held <br /> 24 a special meeting for Hennepin County residents living on the south <br /> 25 side of 37th Avenue to reassure them regarding traffic and other <br /> 26 matters. <br /> 27 <br /> 78 The City Manager referred to a recently passed ordinance of the City of <br /> 79 Minnetonak regarding speed which is very effective. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 9. Proposed Zoning Change <br /> 32 The City Manager advised that the northwest corner of Silver Lake Road <br /> 33 and County Road E is zoned as a Business District and is not Commercial . <br /> 54 Doug Jones noted that when the stretch 'of County Road E near the <br /> 35 Salvation Army Camp was resurfaced, it was sloped so all of the runoff <br /> 36 goes directly into the Camp property. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Doug Jones advised the Council that the property owners on Silver Lake <br /> 39 will be holding their tradittonal Fourth of July Boat Parade on the <br /> J10 Lake. He felt the Salvation Army could be approached about having a <br /> 41 limited Open House on the Fourth. The City Manager will pursue this <br /> 42 suggestion. <br /> 43 Mayor Ranallo has been advised that Tri-City American Legion in New <br /> Brighton will be open on the Fourth of July but that no special <br /> 46 activities have been planned. The American Legion will supply an <br /> 47 honor guard for any community event where it could be appropriately <br /> 48 used. The Mayor suggested some activity be pursued in light of the <br /> J49 fact that most of the personnel who participated in Desert Storm <br /> 50 would have returned by that time. <br />
