September 20, 1993
St. Anthony Planning Commission:
SUBJECT
Applicant: Scott D. Barton
Property Address: 3515 Harding Street Northeast
Proposal: Application for Garage Setback Permit
Objections to garage setback permit:
1. The garage would be too close to a wooden fence. This fence is connected
to a garage (3519 Harding) and this closeness could potentially be a fire hazard.
2. Three feet would not leave room for proper snow dispersal. Since the
upstairs of 3515 Harding is rented out, this adds an additional one or two cars to
the cars from the lower residence.
3. The length of the proposed breezeway is not a case of hardship, and two feet
can be absorbed into the new breezeway and existing structure.
4. If the garage were only three feet from the property line, it would present an
aesthetically undesirable view. This would present a hardship on the present
owner and any prospective buyer should the owner want to sell the house.
5. The five feet minimum is standard through out the suburban metro area and
should be adhered to.
