Public Information on City Parks Meeting Minutes <br /> June 2, 1997 - <br /> . Page 7 <br /> 1 Councilmember Faust thanked the residents and stated this was an opportune time to develop <br /> 2 a plan blueprint and to work with the school and all the stakeholders of the park. <br /> 3 Councilmember Marks thanked the residents and stated he was thrilled with the discussion of <br /> 4 the multi-generational aspect of the park system as he felt it was incredibly important. He <br /> 5 suggested a pathway be installed around Central Park with benches along the way and <br /> 6 possibly childrens play areas appropriately spaced. Marks also noted that the park was jointly <br /> 7 owned by the School District and the City. <br /> 8 Councilmember Enrooth thanked the residents for attending this evening. He noted part of <br /> 9 the ongoing discussion of this issue would have to be the funding and what it would translate <br /> 10 to on a yearly basis as an increase in taxes. <br /> 11 Rick Lundeen, 3904 Fordham Drive, stated he takes his grandchildren to New Brighton parks <br /> 12 because the St. Anthony parks are so awful. He stated it was about time the City did <br /> 13 something with their parks. <br /> 14 Mayor Ranallo stated the ideas presented tonight would be discussed at the Council work <br /> 15 session but he was definitely in favor of an ad hoc committee to be an advisor to the Council <br /> and to help finalize these issues. He stated the results of Council discussion will be <br /> announced at the June 9, 1997 Council meeting. <br /> 18 V. OTHER BUSINESS - None. <br /> 19 VI.
