City Council Regular Meeting Minutes June 24, 1997 • Page 16 1 Morrison reported a pre-construction conference is scheduled for July 7 with the owner of 2 . Tires Plus, the contractor, sub-contractors and KKE Architects. A 16 week construction 3 period is anticipated. 4 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve Resolution 97-036, awarding the bid for 5 construction of SAV 2, a Municipal Off Sale Liquor Store to Lund-Martin Construction, 6 including the changes as•stated by City Attorney Soth in the third paragraph, in the amount of 7 $723,100. 8 Motion carried unanimously. 9 D. Invitation from Senator John Marty and Representative Mary Jo McGuire, re: A 11 Meeting Regarding 1997 Legislative Issues Affecting Local Governments. 12 Mayor Ranallo noted an invitation to a meeting to discuss the 1997 legislative issues and 13 issues affecting local governments to be held at the State Capitol at 6:30 P.M. on July 9th in 14 Room 107. He urged any available Councilmembers to attend. 15 Mayor Ranallo asked who had the design for the City flag. Marks stated he had the design 16 and would make a final decision and pass it on the next Councilmember. • 17 Mayor Ranallo reported he has received several calls in the past couple days regarding 18 vandalism in the parks. He also received a call that the wading pool was not open due to 19 vandalism. He suggested some type of park patrol may need to be initiated with the park 20 plan. Mayor asked parents who are at the parks to become more pro-active in stopping 21 vandalism when they see it happening. 22 E. City Manager. 23 Morrison noted a memo from the Public Works Director that stated the wading pool is over 24 . 30 years old and needs to be replaced. 25 Morrison reported the deadline-for application to the Parks Task Force is Wednesday, June 25. 26 As of today, six at-large-residents have applied. If more than six applications are received, . 27 the names will be brought before the Council for consideration at the July 8 Council meeting. 28 Kathy Wolff has been appointed as the Schoolboard representative, Kathy Knapp will 29 represent Community Services, and Jim Gondorchin will represent the Planning Commission. 30 A Councilmember and a Sports Booster member have not yet been appointed. 31 The first meeting of the Park Committee will be held on July 21, with monthly meetings on 32 the third Monday of the month. Bob Kost has provided an estimated cost of$960.00 to 33 facilitate six meetings. After further consideration, it was determined that Mr. Kost may not 34 only be needed to facilitate meetings but also to draft another park plan. Therefore, Mr. Kost • 35 has proposed services at a rate not to exceed $2,500. Morrison stated he will provide a full 36 report at the July 21 meeting.
