City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> June 24, 1997 • <br /> Page 16 <br /> 1 Morrison reported a pre-construction conference is scheduled for July 7 with the owner of <br /> 2 . Tires Plus, the contractor, sub-contractors and KKE Architects. A 16 week construction <br /> 3 period is anticipated. <br /> 4 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to approve Resolution 97-036, awarding the bid for <br /> 5 construction of SAV 2, a Municipal Off Sale Liquor Store to Lund-Martin Construction, <br /> 6 including the changes as•stated by City Attorney Soth in the third paragraph, in the amount of <br /> 7 $723,100. <br /> 8 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 9 D. Mao <br /> 10 1. Invitation from Senator John Marty and Representative Mary Jo McGuire, re: A <br /> 11 Meeting Regarding 1997 Legislative Issues Affecting Local Governments. <br /> 12 Mayor Ranallo noted an invitation to a meeting to discuss the 1997 legislative issues and <br /> 13 issues affecting local governments to be held at the State Capitol at 6:30 P.M. on July 9th in <br /> 14 Room 107. He urged any available Councilmembers to attend. <br /> 15 Mayor Ranallo asked who had the design for the City flag. Marks stated he had the design <br /> 16 and would make a final decision and pass it on the next Councilmember. <br /> • <br /> 17 Mayor Ranallo reported he has received several calls in the past couple days regarding <br /> 18 vandalism in the parks. He also received a call that the wading pool was not open due to <br /> 19 vandalism. He suggested some type of park patrol may need to be initiated with the park <br /> 20 plan. Mayor asked parents who are at the parks to become more pro-active in stopping <br /> 21 vandalism when they see it happening. <br /> 22 E. City Manager. <br /> 23 Morrison noted a memo from the Public Works Director that stated the wading pool is over <br /> 24 . 30 years old and needs to be replaced. <br /> 25 Morrison reported the deadline-for application to the Parks Task Force is Wednesday, June 25. <br /> 26 As of today, six at-large-residents have applied. If more than six applications are received, . <br /> 27 the names will be brought before the Council for consideration at the July 8 Council meeting. <br /> 28 Kathy Wolff has been appointed as the Schoolboard representative, Kathy Knapp will <br /> 29 represent Community Services, and Jim Gondorchin will represent the Planning Commission. <br /> 30 A Councilmember and a Sports Booster member have not yet been appointed. <br /> 31 The first meeting of the Park Committee will be held on July 21, with monthly meetings on <br /> 32 the third Monday of the month. Bob Kost has provided an estimated cost of$960.00 to <br /> 33 facilitate six meetings. After further consideration, it was determined that Mr. Kost may not <br /> 34 only be needed to facilitate meetings but also to draft another park plan. Therefore, Mr. Kost • <br /> 35 has proposed services at a rate not to exceed $2,500. Morrison stated he will provide a full <br /> 36 report at the July 21 meeting. <br />
