14 <br /> City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> April 25, 2000 <br /> Page 13 <br /> 1 Mornson reported that the real estate transaction closed on April 1 for the home on Kenzie Ter- <br /> 2 race. Public Works Director Jay Hartman is coordinating asbestos and demolition for next week. <br /> 3 As an aside, the Fire Department will be conducting training within the house before the home is <br /> 4 demolished. <br /> 5 Morrison announced that the City has delegated to the new Fire Chief the job of obtaining the <br /> 6 new Opticon system. A fund of$65,000 was set up three years ago, but it has been determined <br /> 7 that fund might need to be adjusted for updated figures. Morrison confirmed that a proposal <br /> 8 would be returning to the Council since additional funds will be needed. <br /> 9 X. REPORTS FROM COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 10 Sparks did not have a report. <br /> 11 Thuesen reported that he will be attending an advanced workshop for land use issues and will re- <br /> 12 port back to the Council at the next meeting. <br /> 13 Horst stated that he attended the Planning Commission meeting on April 18, 2000 as the City <br /> 14 Council Liaison. <br /> 05 Hodson did not have a report. <br /> 16 Cavanaugh reminded the community that the Sister City art exhibit would be shown through the <br /> 17 end of the week. <br /> 18 Additionally, Cavanaugh encouraged attendance at the volunteer dinner. <br /> 19 Regarding VillageFest, Cavanaugh reported that meetings continue to be held and he invited <br /> 20 anyone interested in participating in the planning of VillageFest to contact City Manager Michael <br /> 21 Morrison. <br /> 22 Cavanaugh reported that the joint meeting between the City Council and the Planning Commis- <br /> 23 sion was a success and he hoped to have joint meetings quarterly. <br /> 24 Additionally, Cavanaugh reminded the Council that the St. Cloud League Meeting was coming <br /> 25 up and reminded the Councilmembers to forward their registrations to either City Staff or send <br /> 26 them in on their own. <br /> 27 Cavanaugh commented on the excellent new camera for televising the Council meeting. He <br /> 28 commended Public Works Director Jay Hartman for his assistance and Councilmember Randy <br /> 9 Hodson for obtaining the camera. <br /> 30 XI. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />
