46 <br /> CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2000-002 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO OBTAINING CRIMINAL <br /> HISTORY DATA, AMENDING SECTION 300.04 OF THE'. <br /> 1993 ST. ANTHONY CODE OF ORDINANCES <br /> The City Council of the City of St. Anthony hereby ordains: <br /> Section 1. Section 300.04 of the 1993 St. Anthony Code of Ordinances is amended by <br /> adding the following: <br /> 300.04 Appointments. <br /> (c) Upon the request of the City Manager or designee, the police department shall <br /> provide certain criminal history data contained in the Minnesota Criminal Justice Information <br /> System. The data to be provided must only be about finalists for City positions of <br /> employment. The City Manager or designee must obtain the consent of the finalists before <br /> requesting the data, but an applicant's failure to provide consent may disqualify the applicant <br /> from the prospective position. <br /> Pursuant to an authorized consent form, the City Manager or designee may <br /> obtain criminal history data on a person who has, may have, or seeks to have access to a child <br /> under Minnesota Statutes 299C.61 and who is employed by, volunteers with, or seeks to be <br /> employed by or volunteer with the City or with a children's service provider utilizing city <br /> parks, buildings, or facilities. These background checks shall be in accordance with Minnesota <br /> Statutes 299C.60 to 299C.64 known as "Minnesota Child protection Background Check Act." <br /> Section 2.
