41
: N 0 b 4.
1 - er . .
vem:
A Message
from the School Board
As members of the School Board,we take great pride in the excellent education
our district provides for the students of the St.Anthony-New Brighton Schools.
We believe that the children of our community are part of a unique educational
environment.We offer a comprehensive educational program in a safe,caring,
personalized environment that reflects the.strengths and values of the St.Anthony
and New Brighton communities.
Our district enjoys a long-standing tradition of excellence. We have dedicated
and talented teachers and staff, and we offer excellent programs for students.
We provide extracurricular opportunities that allow our, children to be involved
and experience success in many ways. And we are committed to providing technology
resources that prepare our students to succeed in the 21st century.
Like many districts throughout Minnesota, though,we are facing a funding dilemma:
Costs are increasing, while funding is not keeping pace. The cost of maintaining,
current programs—including teachers,textbooks and technology—increases every
year, and state per-pupil funding of education is not keeping up.That dilemma leaves
school districts with two options: Find new funding or reduce programs. It's that
UJ simple.
. On November 4, voters will be asked to consider three proposals to help support
the work we do for students:.
O Question 1 will provide additional revenues for technology improvements.
O Question 2 will provide additional revenues for curriculum materials
and support.
O Question 3 will provide additional revenues to help maintain student programs
and services.
These three referendum proposals will help continue our tradition of excellence
for students throughout our district.
We encourage you to give serious consideration to these referendum proposals,
and we look forward to seeing you at the polls on November 4.
Rick Dunn,Chair Barry Kinsey,Treasurer
Mike Volna, Vice Chair Jane Eckert,Director
Denise Dunn,Clerk Dave Evans,Director
St. AnthonymNe' w Brighton .
School District 282.
(over)
