STAFF REPORT
DATE: June 9, 1992
TO: Thomas D. Burt, City Manager
FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant
ITEM: HOUSING MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE -- DRAFT #3, APRIL 30, 1992
The third draft of the Housing Maintenance Ordinance is still in process of being reviewed
by the Planning Commission. I asked for input by May 4th, and received the following input:
Commissioner Thompson: Address compost piles.
In addition, I will include your request for language regarding inspection (visual and/or
smoking house) at point of sale of sump pumps and drain tiles to insure they are not
connected to the sanitary sewer system. In addition, some form of language encouraging the
installation of check valves (auto and/or manual) in homes that have back up problems
needs to be included.
The Planning Commission should give their final input in June, so the ordinance may pass
on to the City Council.
