(1) Signs having one copy surface may have up to 20 square feet of surface <br /> area, plus any bonus under Section 1400.10. <br /> (2) Signs having two or more copy surfaces may have up to 32 square feet <br /> for all surfaces, plus any bonus under Section 1400.10. <br /> Subd. 4. LANDSCAPING: <br /> (1) Signs which are landscaped in accordance with this Chapter, will be <br /> entitled to a height bonus of 3 feet (total maximum height of 8 feet). <br /> (2) The minimum required landscape area, excluding the pedestal area to <br /> qualify for the height bonus, must be at least 1.5 times the sign surface <br /> area. <br /> (3) Landscaping must consist of shrubs, plants, rocks or other <br /> decorativi,- materials located around the pedestal. <br /> Subd. 5. DESIGN AND LOCATION: <br /> (1) Signs must maximize the use of natural materials in construction and <br /> should conform to the material design of the principal structure. <br /> �Y (2) Signs must be located at least 15 feet from any street or other <br /> easement. <br /> (3) To qualify for a permit, the pedestal width of a ground sign must be at <br /> least equal to the sign width. <br /> (4) The principal structure of a parcel of land will be- allowed one ground <br /> sign, regardless of the number of tenants in the structure. <br /> 1400.11 WALL SIGNS: The sign surface area of a wall sign may not exceed 15% of the <br /> area of the wall'to which it is applied. <br /> 1400.12 DISTRICT SCHEDULES: Signs shall be permitted as set forth in the following <br /> provisions: <br /> Subd. 1. RESIDENTIAL: The following signs are permitted in a residential district: <br /> (1) R-1, R-1A & R-2: One identification sign per dwelling unit per right- <br /> of-way frontage. Additionally one address sign on the curb in front of <br /> each dwelling unit or on a freestanding mailbox. <br /> 12 <br />
