• CITY OF ST. ANTHONY
APPLICATION FOR
GARAGE SETBACK PERMIT
Scott D. Barton
3515 Harding Street NE
Property owner requests a garage setback permit in order to move garage to desired location(3
feet from adjoining property line vs. 5 feet)in connection with the construction of a new concrete
driveway(replacing existing gravel driveway which is not in compliance with city ordinance).
Owner wishes to attach the garage to the existing house and wishes to make the addition practical.
ITEMS ADDRESSED:
1. Proximity of garage to any structures on the adjoining property:
The closest structure on the adjoining property is'the neighbor's 6 foot privacy fence(see
proposed site drawing).
2. Extent of vegetation or other screening on the subject property and adjoining property:
• No vegetation other than grass would be affected or materially screened on the subject
property or the adjoining property since the adjoining property owner already has a 6 foot
privacy fence on the property line where the setback permit is requested.
3. Effect of the structure on the light and visibility available to the adjoining site:
Again, due to the pre-existing 6 foot privacy fence;the effect of the structure on the light
and visibility available to the adjoining site would be minimal.
4. Matters of fire safety:
No impact foreseeable.
5. Existing garages on the adjoining property:
The garage on the adjoining property is approximately 5' 8"from the property line,
connected to the property line by a 6 foot privacy fence. Since the garage on the subject
property will not be placed along side the garage on the adjoining property, the setback
permit would not appear to have a material impact on the appearance of_the adjoining
structure(the garage on the subject property will be placed approximately 30 feet further
from the street than the garage on the adjoining property.
