1 CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 18, 1994 <br /> 4 I. CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 5 The meeting was called to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chair Gondorchin at <br /> 6 7:00 P.M. <br /> 7 II. ROLL CALL. <br /> 8 Commissioners present: Bergstrom,Makowske, Gondorchin, Faust, Franzese, and <br /> 9 Thompson. <br /> 10 Commissioners absent: Horst <br /> 11 Also present: Michael Mornson, City Manager <br /> 12 III. APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 20, 1994 PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES. <br /> 13 Motion by Bergstrom, second by Franzese, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of <br /> 14 September 20, 1994 with the following changes: <br /> 15 Page 4, line 11: Remove "evaluation" and replace with "valuation" <br /> Page 5, line 28: Remove "and the school tax to a maximum level of 4.5%. She also <br /> commented favorably regarding the reduction of abatements". <br /> 18 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 19 IV. DESIGNATE PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> 20 MEETING OF OCTOBER 25, 1994.. <br /> 21 Chair Gondorchin commented that Mayor Ranallo was in attendance at the Planning <br /> 22 Commission Meeting so there will be no:need for representation at City Council meeting. <br /> 23 V. PUBLIC HEARINGS -NONE. <br /> 24 VI. APACHE PLAZA REDEVELOPMENT. <br /> 25 City Manager Mornson reported that the meeting tonight was a result of a request by the <br /> 26 Planning Commission to have a dialogue between the property owners and developers of Knox <br /> 27 Lumber, CUB Foods, and the owner of Apache Plaza regarding the redevelopment of Apache <br /> 28 Plaza. The objective of this meeting was to get a "feel' for the issues being presented and to <br /> 29 share ideas between the parties. <br /> 30 Jerry Narlock,Engineering Architect for Planmark(CUB), presented their proposal for the <br />. 31 redevelopment and addition of CUB Foods store to Apache Plaza. He explained that they intend <br /> to purchase 10 acres of land on the south side, including 140,000 to 200,000 square feet of the <br /> existing mall. The existing portion of the mall would then be demolished, and their building <br /> 34 attached to that area. The store will be located where the old Montgomery Wards store was. <br />
