The existing building ordinances for St. Anthony Village are stated in Section
1650 - General Regulations. We would like you to call your attention to
Section 1650.02 subparagraph 6 (b).
In granting or denying the setback permit, the Council will
consider the proximity of the garage to any structures on the
adjoining property, the extent of vegetation or other screening
on the subject property and the adjoining property, the effect of
the garage on the light, and the visibility available to the .
adjoining property, matters of fire safety, the existing garages on
the adjoining property, the ability to locate garages elsewhere on
the subject property, and any other matters which may be
relevant to the degree of encroachment into the setback.
The building of the proposed garage will greatly effect the light and visibility
we so much enjoy and have, enjoyed for 41 years. The building of the
proposed new garage will significantly block the view we have today from
our kitchen window of the street.
We are more.thanwilling to cooperate with our neighbors in this matter and
are supportive of their need for a.double garage. However, we feel there are
other options available that will satisfy their need for an attached double
garage that will not impact our kitchen view and property value.
We ask the planning commission to NOT grant the variances required to issue
the building permit requested to construct the new double car garage. Below
are signatures from all our neighbors who live on the block which support us
in requesting DENIAL of this building permit.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. We look forward meeting
with any or all of the planning commission members to discuss this finther.
Sincerely,
Francis and Rose Ann Grewe
