1 play area to be tied to the Central Park redevelopment. <br /> 2 Marks stated that the Task Force needs to disassociate the commitment to <br /> 3 Community Services from the long-range planning of Central Park. <br /> 4 It was agreed that the Task Force proceed to discuss the matrix first and at 8:30 <br /> 5 p.m., continue the discussion of Wagner's proposal. <br /> 6 Eberlein stated that it made more sense to consider location a play area near the <br /> 7 shelter and wadding pool at the north end of Central Park where families generally <br /> 8 go. <br /> 9 Weber and Task Force discussed the tabulation results of the matrix. There was <br /> 10 discussion regarding the implications of the results. <br /> 11 Wolff suggested that the occupancy number be used for the Community Services <br /> 12 play area rather than the times available. There was discussion regarding the size of <br /> 13 this play area. It was suggested that it should be larger than 4,000 square feet. The <br /> 14 Task Force felt that the Community Services tot lot should be constructed <br /> 15 immediately and that plans for an additional multi-age play area be developed and <br /> 16 the play area be constructed simultaneously.' It was felt that then Community <br /> 17 Services needs and the community needs could be met at the same time. The Task <br /> 18 Force could continue to develop plans for the remainder of Central Park. <br /> 19 The Task Force decided to amend the Wagner/Jindra motion to construct the <br /> 20 largest possible temporary play area without affecting adjacent ball fields at the most <br /> 21 economical expenditure for purchase of play equipment at the NE corner of the <br /> 22 City Hall/Community Center building. <br /> 23 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 24 IV. FORMULATION OF FINAL PLAY AREA LOCATIONS. <br /> 25 There was discussion to develop an additional multi-age play area at the water <br /> 26 tower. It was also suggested that access to a restroom facility at this location is <br /> 27 necessary. <br /> 28 Motion by Marks, second by Bloom, to locate a multi-age play area in the vicinity <br /> 29 of the water tower and to provide restroom facilities at this location. <br /> 30 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 31 V. OTHER BUSINESS. <br /> 32 Wolff stated that she supports putting the skating rink back behind the City <br /> 33 Hall/Community Center. <br />
