Then the_permanent bathrooms.could be located at
3 Wate'rtowet Park
4 Gebhardt asked if the concession stand would be closer to the skate park..Jindra stated the
5 separate concession stand would be eliminated. She noted this is partly due to the price
6 estimates.
7 Commissioner Jensen stated his support for this proposal.
8 Gebhardt stated several comments were made at the neighborhood meeting about the lack of
9 bathrooms and the distance to the bathrooms. Jindra stated they may ask the high school to place
10 satellite bathrooms during the summer months.
11 Mr. Hartman reviewed the cost estimates that were made.
12 Zurbey noted the location of the existing sewer and water services and asked if that is a
13 consideration. Mr. Kost stated new utility services are needed anyway so the cost would not be
1$4. significant. .
15 Anderson stated the cost estimates being used today are based on $150 per square foot.
16 Mr. Kost stated he believes combining the buildings will be more cost effective and efficient.
17 Jindra reviewed the building elements and configuration of the redesigned shelter. She noted the
18 open pavilion space and the concession area located in the center. She stated they talked about
19 using a color that is non-intrusive and blends into the area.
20 Zurbey expressed concern about the distance from the fields to the concession stand. Anderson
21 estimated it may add 100 feet in distance.
22 Jindra suggested that Ms. Olivier be asked to recalculate the estimate based on this consolidated
23 design.
24 Anderson stated the shelter was estimated at$114 per square foot and Ms. Olivier indicated she
25 will work with $150 per square foot.
26 Gebhardt raise the issue of who will operate the concession stand. She stated she has heard
27 people do not want this to become a"tournament facility" but she supports putting in a
8 concession stand and figuring out the logistics later. Gebhardt asked if the concession stand will
9 be used a lot.
