M I N U T E S <br /> St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee <br /> Merch 9, 1982 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> High School Library <br /> ilEMBERS PF ESENT: Evelyn Holthus, Don Hickerson, Ruth Hultgren, <br /> Mary Bowling, Pat Beaubien, Karen Thoreson-Quinn, <br /> Jean Klosterman, Paul Re:1elein, James Stephens <br /> and Jan Stroom. <br /> Ruth Hultgren, President, called the meeting to order at 7 :05 P.M. <br /> The secretary' s minutes of the February 9th meeting were approved <br /> as submitted to the committee . <br /> The treasurer's report was tabled until later in the meeting when <br /> Karen advised that $1,000 from the City of St. Anthony has been <br /> deposited, thus resulting in a current balance of $1,355.79. Karen <br /> also advised that we had received our employer identification number, <br /> which is 41-1414280. <br /> Old Business : <br /> 1. Evelyn, Paul and Jan submitted to the committee various brochures <br /> and pamphlets chosen to be distributed to professional offices <br /> • within the community. <br /> Pat Beaubien made a motion to accept their recommendations so <br /> that this material could be ordered in the near future. The <br /> motion was seconded b,, James Stephens . Motion was approved and <br /> carried by the committee. <br /> The committee agreed that distribution of this material would <br /> be made to medical and dental offices within St. Anthony as <br /> well as the Silver Lake Clinic. Churches in the community <br /> will also be utilized .for distribution of this information. <br /> Paul has been. in touch with Senator Frenzel and was able to <br /> obtain 50 free copies of a brochure relating to alcoholism. <br /> Evelyn is placing an order for 250 each of three A.A. sheets <br /> for distribution. She is also checking into the cost of 30 <br /> to 50 permanent books to be placed in these offices.. <br /> Evelyn will draft a letter to be sent to these professionals <br /> by April 1st, outlining our objectives through furnishing . <br /> reading material for their offices, as well as making them <br /> aware of our committee and its ' tentative goals in the community. <br /> :Members of the committee will distribute this material between <br /> April 14th and April 21st. <br /> 2. James Stephens gave a report about the hockey banquet relating <br /> to the recommendation submitted to the School Board for a <br /> district policy or guideline :relative the use of .alcoholic <br /> . beverages at school functions with students in attendance . <br /> Jim advised that the people atte..ding the hockey banquet were, <br /> well aware of our recommendation and that punch oras ava.i ..able <br /> for everyone attend n,—, the bax aaet. <br />
