INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 262 ST. ANTHONY - NEW BRIGHTON • 9903 39no AVENUE NORTHEAST. MINNEAPOLIS. MINNESOTA 95418 ST. ANTHONY CHEMICAL ABUSE INFORMATION COMMITTEE October 11, 1983 Present: Jean Klosterman, Barb Malrick, Joe Malrick, Tom Lindskog, Pat Beaubien, Karen Thoresen Quinn, Jan Stroom, and Evelyn Holthus. Secretary's Report was read and approved. Treasurer's Report - $926.16 Old Business: 1. Youth Service Bureau update. A letter was sent to Chris Clauson stating we would serve 'as an advisory board and we would add a student, pastoral representative, and city council representative. A letter has been sent to Dave Childsabout the advisory board. Pastor Seefeldt of Nativity wishes to be on the board and Evelyn will meet Thursday morning with the student council to seek a student to serve. Youth Service Bureau has request two persons to attend the Y.S.B. Executive Meeting at • 7:00 on October 20th. Evelyn and ;Jean will attend. 2. Chemical People. Community meeting was attended by approximately 8 people representing churches and some organizations. Town meetings have been scheduled for November 1, 2, and 3 at High School Library, St. Charles Learning Media Center, Elmwood Lutheran and Nativity Lutheran. Teachers at High School were shown publicity film for educators on October 11 and 12; the Middle School and Wilshire -Park will see it on October 18 and St. Charles presented film and study guides at a workshop on October 11. Publicity plans are as follows: 2a. Newsletter sent out by City. Evelyn is to prepare articles and get to Advance Printing. A motion was made, seconded and passed to spend money needed for printing. 2b. Kiwanis are sponsoring a billboard for Chemical People. ad. 2c. The Focus should contain a short notice "The Chemical people are coming"with longer explaination to be in October 27th.
