Minnesota Statutes 1982, section 473,123, is <br /> 5 amended by adding a subdivision to read: <br /> 6 Subd. 3d. [TERMS; VACANCIES.] The term of office for a <br /> 7 council member is three years. No person may serve more than <br /> 8 two full terms as a council member. <br /> 9 Sec. 5. Minnesota Statutes 1982, section 473.123, is <br /> 10 amended by adding a subdivision to read: <br /> 11 Subd. 3e. [TRANSITIONAL APPOINTMENTS.] For the <br /> 12 appointments in 1985 and at the first appointments after a <br /> 13 reapportionment, all council members will be appointed. At <br /> 14 those times, the representatives of council districts 1, 4, 7, • <br /> 15 10, 13, and 16 will be appointed for three-year terms. Those <br /> 16 representing districts 2, 5, 8, 11, and 14 will be appointed for <br /> 17 two-year terms. Those representing districts 3, 6, 9, 12, and <br /> 18 15 will be appointed for one-year terms. Thereafter, all <br /> 19 appointments will be for three-year terms. <br /> 20 Sec. 6. [REPEALER.] <br /> 21 Minnesota Statutes 1983 Supplement, section 473.123, <br /> 22 subdivision 2a, is repealed. <br /> 23 Sec. 7.
