Regular Council Meeting 11 <br /> November 27, 1990 <br /> 1 Burt said that happened last year. He also commented that the liquor <br /> 2 business is going down for a variety of reasons. Staff is looking for way of <br /> 3 increasing the profit level. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 At 9:44 the question period ended and the hearing was open.for statements <br /> 6 from the audience. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Petro Kmit suggested that Apache Plaza should lower their rent to attract <br /> 9 more tenants. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Burt said the City has no control over the rent. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Dayton Hultgren stated that he appreciated the action taken by the City to <br /> 14 carry out Comparable Worth legislation. He also said that even though his <br /> 15 income may not increase, he supports the City employees pay increase. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Bill Zawislak stated that you have to spend money to make money. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Burt said that copies of the Budget are available and offered to meet with <br /> 20 anyone who may have questions. <br /> • 21 <br /> 22 Ranallo said that he is available to the residents in the City office the first <br /> 23 Saturday of every month from 8:30-10:30 a.m. He added that although no <br /> 24 one wants to see a tax increase, it appears that no one wants to see any of <br /> 25 the services stopped. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Bob. LaForce commended the Council on a fine job. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 John Mondatti, 3420 Highcrest Road, suggested appealing to all the City's <br /> 30 real estate companies to find some tenants and get Apache Plaza going. <br /> 31 "Don't give up," he said. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Ranallo recommended making that a project. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Motion by Marks, second by Enrooth to close the public hearing at 9:52 p.m. <br /> 37 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Motion by Marks, second by Makowske to approve Resolution 90-038 <br /> 40 which certifies the tax levy collectible in 1991 and approves the 1991 City <br /> 41 budget. <br /> 42 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 <br /> 45 <br />
