300- 15 Leaves Without Pay. The City Manager may grant any full- <br /> time employee a leave of absence without pay f or a period not <br /> exceeding 90 days 'except that the Manager may extend such leaves to <br /> a maximum period of one year in case the employee is disabled or <br /> where extraordinary circumstances, in the. Manager's judgment, <br /> warrant such extension. No vacation or sick leave benefits will <br /> accrue during a leave of absence without pay. <br /> 300. 16 Jury or Witness Duty. When an employee performs jury <br /> duty or is subpoenaed as a witness in court or voluntarily serves <br /> as a witness in a case in which the City is a party, the employee <br /> is entitled to compensation from the City equal to the difference <br /> between his or her regular pay and the amount received as a juror <br /> or witness. <br /> 300. 17 Holidays. All full time employees shall observe the <br /> following twelve (12) paid holidays: <br /> 1) New Yearls 'Day - January 1 <br /> 2) Martin Luther King Day - third Monday in January <br /> 3) Presidents' Day - third Monday in February <br /> 4) Good Friday Friday preceding Easter Sunday <br /> 5) Memorial -Day last Monday in May <br /> 6) Independence Day - July 4 <br /> 7) Labor Day - first Monday in September <br /> 8) Christopher Columbus Day - second Monday in October <br /> 9) Veteran's Day - November 11 <br /> 10) Thanksgiving Day - fourth Thursday in November <br /> 11) Friday following Thanksgiving Day <br /> 12) Christmas Day - December 25 <br /> When an above named holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed <br /> on the following Monday. If such holiday falls on a Saturday, the <br /> preceding Friday is a holiday. <br /> Employees may be required to work on such holidays when the nature <br /> of their duties or other conditions require. A full time employee <br /> required to work on a holiday shall receive another day off within <br /> 30 days thereafter as the City Manager determines, unless <br /> consideration is given to this factor in determining work <br /> schedules. when a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday <br /> will be a paid holiday, and if a holiday falls on Saturday, the <br /> preceding Friday will be a paid holiday. Each holiday commences at <br /> the beginning of the first shift on the day on which the holiday <br /> occurs and continues for 24 hours thereafter. Eligible employees <br /> shall receive pay for official holidays at their normal rate of pay <br /> if they are at work or on a leave of absence with pay the last <br /> regular shift to which they would have been assigned prior to the <br /> holiday and the first regular shift to which they would have been <br /> assigned following the holiday. <br /> 3-9 <br />
