1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 0 AUGUST 27 , 1991 <br /> PAGE 9 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 1 . 1991 Audit/Auditor <br /> 7 In 1989 procuring the services of a new auditor was not <br /> 8 recommended in that the City Manager had just been hired. <br /> 9 In 1990 selecting a new auditor was, not recommended as <br /> 10 the Finance Director has just been. hired. Staff is not <br /> 11 recommending changing auditors for the 1991 audit as the <br /> 12 computer system is presently being changed over to a new <br /> 13 system. <br /> 1,4 <br /> 15 The City Manager recognized the need to solicit the <br /> 16 services of an auditor on a regular basis, but felt these <br /> 17 last three years had some prohibitions which would not <br /> 18 have made a change practical . Councilmember Enrooth <br /> 19 expressed his concern with continuing with the same <br /> 20 auditor for three years . The City Manager advised that <br /> 21 this will be a bid process next year. He noted that with <br /> 22 the new computer service there has been a $350 savings <br /> 23 realized each payroll period. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 No Council action was necessary on this matter. <br /> 26 <br /> diLetter From the Metropolitan Transit Commission <br /> 29 Mayor Ranallo read a letter received from the Metropolitan <br /> 30 Transit Commission which was in response to the concerns <br /> 31 expressed regarding service and number of routes in St . <br /> 32 Anthony. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Staff of the MTC is requesting the Council designate an <br /> 35 elected official or a member of the City staff to assist them <br /> 36 in defining -the problems with service and routing. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 The City Manager noted that presently Dave Urbia has been <br /> 39 working with the MTC and he recommended that Dave continue. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 It was noted that the City is installing the concrete pads for <br /> 42 the bus shelters and the MTC would 'be supplying the shelters . <br /> 43 Presently, there are shelters at numerous locations in the <br /> 44 City and the location of 33rd Avenue and Silver Lake Road is <br /> 45 being proposed. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 8.
