1 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 2 FEBRUARY 11 , 1992 <br /> 3 PAGE 7 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Committee the sidewalk would not be ecologically <br /> 7 beneficial to the wildlife located at the Lake and <br /> 8 would be disruptive to the. natural setting of the <br /> 9 Lake. Also, they indicated the cost of this <br /> 10 assessable project would be an economic hardship <br /> 11 for the Camp . <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Councilmember Marks requested that a copy .of this <br /> 14 letter be sent to the Ramsey County Highway <br /> 15 Department . <br /> 16 <br /> 17 The City Manager noted that the costs associated <br /> 18 with this project would be passed on to benefitted <br /> 19 property owners in the form of assessments. He <br /> 20 noted that the plan has had its final review and <br /> 21 Ramsey County presently is going into the design <br /> 22 phase. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 The City Manager attended a recent public hearing <br /> 25 regarding this project . He observed that St . <br /> 26 Anthony residents had few questions regarding the <br /> K7 proposed project but that many concerns were <br /> 8 expressed by residents of New Brighton. He advised <br /> 29 that the members of the Council will be copied on <br /> 30 the written record of the public hearing. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The City Manager noted that the St . Anthony City <br /> 33 Council still has time to deny authorization for <br /> 34installation of the sidewalk but cautioned it would <br /> 35 be wise to wait on this matter until the road <br /> 36 placement is decided. He felt the road may be <br /> 37 placed closer to Silver Lake if it were known that <br /> 38 there would be no sidewalk put in this location. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Responding to previous concerns of those who walked <br /> 41 around the Lake, the City Manager stated that <br /> 42 presently there is sidewalk nearly all the way <br /> 43 around the Lake. The only area where sidewalk does <br /> 44 not exist is on Silver Lane. This sidewalk may <br /> 45 become a reality if Community Development Block <br /> 46 Grant funds from Ramsey County can be used to pay <br /> 47 the costs . <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Volunteer Appreciation Dinner <br /> 50 <br /> 51 Dates for National Volunteer Week and for Volunteer <br /> 52 Recognition in Minnesota were discussed. <br /> 0'3 <br /> 54 Mayor Ranallo indicated a willingness to secure the <br />
