I CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> January 25, 1994 <br /> 3 Page 7 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 At the request of the Council, Management Assistant Sarah <br /> 6 Bellefuil obtained additional bids for recycling services . <br /> 7 She received two additional bids. Mayor Ranallo asked if <br /> 8 BFI would continue on a month-by-month basis in case the <br /> 9 City decided to close the recycling center. Management <br /> 10 Assistant Bellefuil said BFI' was willing to continue with <br /> 11 • 1993 prices until March of 1994 and that she hadn' t talked <br /> 12 with them about going month-to-month beyond March. She said <br /> 13 St . Anthony was one of the few places left that still had a <br /> 14 recycling center open. Mayor Ranallo explained that <br /> 15 residents were already paying for the recycling in their <br /> 16 rubbish bill . However, the City receives reimbursement from <br /> 17 Hennepin County for the recycling center and which is one of <br /> 18 the reasons it is kept open. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Councilmember Enrooth suggested the City continue the <br /> 21 recycling center through the middle of May to allow for <br /> �22 Spring clean up. <br /> Z4 VII. PUBLIC •HEARINGS. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 The City Manager reported that one neighborhood meeting was <br /> 27 held before the .actual costs were determined. The project <br /> 28 was explained and the inconveniences that went along with <br /> 29 the reconstructions and overlays. Additional correspondence <br /> 30 was sent to each affected property owner after the City <br /> 31 received bids showing exactly what the amount would be if <br /> 32 the assessments are approved and which also informed them of <br /> 33 the public hearing on .the project . <br /> 34 <br /> 35 The Mayor said that about four or five years ago a task <br /> 36 force was formed to make recommendations to the City Council <br /> 37 on what they felt should be done to streets and sidewalks . <br /> 38 They also looked at sewer and water, and other public <br /> 39 utilities as well . The City now has a more sophisticated <br /> 40 pavement management study which computerizes information <br /> 41 about road conditions ..
