City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> May 13, 1997 <br /> • Page 5 <br /> 1 complimenting the Mayor, City Council and staff for their hard work over the last seven years <br /> 2 to bring CUB into the City of St. Anthony. <br /> 3 Mayor Ranallo reported he will be retiring on May 30, 1997. <br /> 4 C. City Manager. <br /> 5 Morrison reported he had received a letter from Elizabeth Peterson requesting a variance to <br /> 6 allow parking on 37th Avenue. Morrison also reported the League of Minnesota Cities has <br /> 7 verified that it is okay for the City to pass out hats at the VillageFest parade. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 1. Request for Fences Around Ponds at CUB. <br /> 10 Morrison reported the City is receiving many requests to install fencing around the <br /> 11 storm water ponds by CUB Foods. Morrison reported OPUS has a design team which <br /> 12 is preparing a design for an aesthetically pleasing fence. <br /> 13 There was Council consensus to consider the installation of a fence when the designs <br /> 14 are received from OPUS. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 2. Approval of Feasibility Report and Authorize Plans and Specifications for 33rd <br /> 17 Avenue Street Work - May 27, 1997 Meeting. <br /> Mornson reported the feasibility report will be completed and presented by Bob <br /> Moberg, RCM Engineers at the May 27, 1997 Council meeting. At that time the <br /> 20 Council may wish to authorize the preparation of plans and specifications. The <br /> 21 Feasibility Report will cost $4,500 and will be funded by Minnesota State Aid-Funds. <br /> 22 3. Park Information Meeting on June 2, 1997. <br /> 23 Mornson submitted a press release, an agenda, and a invitation letter to the Park <br /> 24 Information Meeting to be held on June 2, 1997, for Council consideration. <br /> 25 There was Council consensus to approve the agenda and the letter of invitation. There <br /> 26 was also Council consensus that the second line of the press release should read "The <br /> 27 City Council is soliciting the public's input in the planning and financing process". <br /> 28 Morrison also reported in response to questions raised at the recent work session, that <br /> 29 Public Works Director has reported the slide is safe. It has been inspected by the <br /> 30 insurance carrier and'is only intended for children 13 years and older. Morrison noted <br /> 31 all park equipment is inspected weekly as a requirement of the insurance carrier. <br /> 32 4. Comprehensive Plan - July 22, 1997 Planning Commission Meeting. <br /> 33 Mornson reported BRW will present a draft of the Comprehensive Plan Update at the <br /> 34 Planning Commission meeting on July 22, 1997. Members of the Task Force will be <br /> 35 invited to that meeting to review the draft. It will then be submitted to the <br /> Metropolitan Council for review and the Council will consider the Plan in October, <br /> 7 1997. The draft will be submitted to the Metropolitan Council noting that the Storm <br /> 38 Water and Capital Equipment portions of the Plan are not yet completed. <br />
