Truth in Taxation Meeting Minutes <br /> December 11, 2000 <br /> • Page 3 <br /> 1 Mr. Weehof continued his discussion and directed the Council's.attention to a book he had. <br /> 2 brought with him regarding government policy. Discussion ensued regarding certain ideas and . <br /> 3 'philosophies of this manual. <br /> 4 Cavanaugh suggested that a continuing discussion at a later time could occur regarding the <br /> 5 subject on government philosophy and noted that Mr. Weehof had a healthy outlook on the <br /> 6 community. However, he noted that this particular meeting was designed for a Truth in Taxation <br /> 7 hearing, and that he would enjoy meeting with Mr. Weehof and City Manager Michael Momson <br /> 8 regarding further discussions on government philosophy. <br /> 9 Thuesen referred to manual that Mr. Weehof brought with him to this meeting, and respectfully <br /> 10 cautioned Mr. Weehof from comparing one community to another based on the philosophy in the <br /> 11 manual. Each community is a separate organization and certain departments and budgets are <br /> 12 implemented based on each community's need. <br /> 13 VI. SET DATE FOR ADOPTION HEARING FOR THE 2001 BUDGET AND TAX LEVY <br /> 14 FOR WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 20,2000 AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL <br /> 15 CHAMBERS.. <br /> 16 Motion by Thuesen to set the date for the Adoption Hearing for the 2001 Budget and Tax Levy <br /> 17 for Wednesday, December 20, 2 000, at 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers (modified from 7:00 <br /> 18 P.m.). <br /> 19 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 20 VII. CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> 21 After calling for any additional input from the audience and hearing none, Mayor Cavanaugh <br /> 22 closed the Public Hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> 23 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 24 VIII.
