18 <br /> ST.ANTHONY SHOPPING CENTER LLC Post Office Box 555 Wayzata,Minnesota 55391 <br /> • <br /> August 1,2003 <br /> City Council <br /> City Planning Commission <br /> City of St.Anthony <br /> 3301 Silver Lake Rd. <br /> Minneapolis,MN 55418 <br /> Re:Approval for an amended Comprehensive Sign Plan for St.Anthony Shopping Center <br /> Dear Council and Commission Members: <br /> St.Anthony Shopping Center has recently signed leases with two tenants that have regional and national scope: <br /> Bumper to Bumper and Subway.In both cases these tenants have developed distinctive and uniform signage in order <br /> to promote uniform signage and gain store recognition.The current Comprehensive Sign Plan for St.Anthony <br /> Shopping Center does not provide sufficient flexibility of sign design to accommodate regional and national tenants <br /> that have distinctive and uniform signage for all their locations;therefore,we are requesting a modification of the St. <br /> Anthony'Shopping Center Comprehensive Sign Plan to facilitate these and future regional and national tenants. <br /> Having regional and national tenants in our community helps provide desired goods and services to the residents of <br /> St.Anthony as well as providing strength and stability to the City's retail base. <br /> The requested modification,located on the second to last page of the attached proposed Sign Criteria,states: <br /> 9. .In order to accommodate regional and national tenants that have developed distinctive and uniform <br /> signage for all their locations,the previous paragraphs 1 through 8 shall not apply and lessor may <br /> approve signage of tenants that have multiple locations provided: <br /> a) The signage is in substantial conformance with Tenant's internal sign criteria and <br /> specifications. <br /> b) The total width of the sign shall not exceed 80%of the Tenant's store front width. <br /> c) The sign height shall be a minimum of 16"and a maximum of 40". <br /> d) Sign color or colors are those found on typical retail signage in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area. <br /> e) Tenant submits two(2)drawings for Lessor's written approval prior to fabrication of signs. <br /> f) Lessor approves Tenant's sign contractor. <br /> Thank you for your consideration. <br /> Very truly yours, <br /> Al Esther <br /> Principal <br /> Direct Phone:(612)741-6469 <br /> r <br /> St Anthony sign Amendmenl letter 9-1-03 <br /> 9/1/2003 9:47PM <br />
