Resolution 03-069, re: Call for a Special Council Meeting_ <br /> 4 It was noted Council had scheduled a Special Meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2003, at 5:00 p.m. <br /> 5 at St. Anthony City Hall to consider approval of the bid package for construction of a Public <br /> 6 Works facility and the bid package for construction of a Fire Station facility. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Motion by Councilmember Faust to adopt Resolution 03-069 calling for a City Council Special <br /> 9 Meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2003, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Anthony City Hall. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 VIII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 14 City Manager Mornson reported the following items: <br /> 15 . ■ Lynette Wittsack was the new representative to the Metropolitan Council. <br /> 16 ■ New Board of Review Laws were given to Council. <br /> 17 ■ Groundbreaking for Fire Station and Public Works began on Tuesday, September 9, <br /> 18 2003, at 5:00 p.m. for Public Works and 5:30 p.m. for Fire Station. <br /> 19 ■ Closing on Stonehouse was set for Monday, September 8, 2003, with demolition <br /> 20 beginning on September 16, 2003. Mr. Mornson noted some type of groundbreaking <br /> 21 would be planned. <br /> 22 ■ Easements had been received from Hennepin County. <br /> 23 ■ Joint meeting with the School Board was scheduled for September 30, 2003. <br /> 24 o Special City Council Meeting to consider Public Works and Fire Station bids was set for <br /> 25 October 2, 2003, at 5:00 p.m. <br /> 26 ■ The public rehearing.for Autumn Woods was set for Tuesday, October 21, 2003. <br /> 27 ■ Regular Council meeting was set for November 4, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. instead of <br /> 28 November 11, 2003, as the latter was Veteran's Day. <br /> 29 ■ Truth in Taxation hearing and regular Council meeting scheduled for December 8, 2003. <br /> 30 Mr. Mornson noted this would be the last meeting of the year unless continuation was <br /> 31 needed. He added Council would then meet December 15, 2003. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Councilmember Sparks stated she had attended the Mississippi Watershed meeting that day and <br /> 34 the draft of the 2004 budget had been approved, which would be about $4 million. She added <br /> 35 approximately$77,000 was St. Anthony's portion. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Councilmember Thuesen inquired regarding Council's wishes for his attendance at the Planning <br /> 38 Commission meetings as the City moved forward with the Northwest Quadrant project. He <br /> 39 questioned whether the Planning Commission should be allowed more discussion room without <br /> 40 his presence or if he should be in attendance to answer potential questions. Councilmember <br /> 41 Horst responded the liaison person was there mostly to obtain updates and normally would attend <br /> 42 on a quarterly basis. Councilmember Thuesen agreed with Councilmember Horst but stated he <br /> 43 had wanted feedback from Council. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Councilmember Faust reported he had attended a Fiscal Futures Policy Committee meeting with <br /> 46 the League of Minnesota Cities on Friday, August 15, 2003.
