City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 04 <br /> February 10, 2004 <br /> Page 4 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Councilmember Horst reported that the Community Services Board was unable to meet due to a <br /> 3 _ lack of quorum and reminded Council that they are waiting for a decision on funding and he <br /> 4 would like to be able to provide them with a report in March. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Councilmember Stille reported that the Parks Commission is looking forward to the opening of <br /> 7 Central Park as well as all the other dedications in the City. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Councilmember Thuesen had no report. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Mayor Hodson indicated that the wrecking ball event has been renamed to the Bulldozer Bash. <br /> 12 He then told residents that they could obtain more information on the Apache project by <br /> 13 checking the website at www.apacheplaza.com. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Mayor Hodson indicated he had spent the day discussing homeland security and he would like <br /> 16 the City to consider training residents through the FEMA program to be first responders in the <br /> 17 event of a natural disaster or terrorist situation. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Mayor Hodson thanked the residents in attendance for their interest in what happens within the <br /> 20 City. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Councilmember Horst asked if Staff is monitoring the activity at Apache Plaza and asked what <br /> 23 the walls were for. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Mr. Mornson explained that the walls are required during the asbestos abatement currently <br /> 26 happening. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Councilmember Horst asked whether the asbestos removal would affect the planned Bulldozer <br /> 29 Bash. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Mr. Mornson indicated the asbestos removal would be completed by the date of the party and <br /> 32 should not cause any issues with the party. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 35 Mayor Hodson invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items <br /> 36 that are not on the regular agenda. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Hearing none, Mayor Hodson moved forward with the agenda. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 X. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONAL DOCUMENTS. <br /> 43 None. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 XI. ADJOURNMENT. <br /> 46 Mayor Hodson adjourned the meeting at 7:38 p.m. <br /> 47 <br />
