City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 13 <br /> July 27,2004 <br /> Page 13 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br /> 3 City Manager Mornson reported the following: <br /> 4 1. A joint meeting will be held with the school district on August 31St <br /> 5 2. The fire station is on schedule to open mid October, 2004. <br /> 6 3. Updates on Silver Lake Development: <br /> 7 a. There are twelve pre-sales in the for sale housing unit. The footings are being <br /> 8 poured September 1, 2004. <br /> 9 b. Demolition for Solie building in Apache Square is scheduled for after August <br /> 10 20, 2004. <br /> 11 c. The bids for the park have been approved by the developer,with a meeting <br /> 12 scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2004. <br /> 13 d. Park construction will be beginning in August. <br /> 14 e. The bids for decorative lighting and curbing are currently out for bid. These <br /> 15 components are paid for by the developer. <br /> 16 f. The liquor store completion is on schedule,with the Grand Opening taking <br /> 17 place on September 24, 2004, or October 1, 2004. The developers and the <br /> 18 liquor store are looking into having a joint celebration of Silver Lake Village <br /> 19 and 39th Avenue,with the potential of hosting a street dance. The date will be <br /> 20 determined in August 2004. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 There was discussion regarding the footings that are currently being poured, as well as the <br /> 23 Remodeling that Cub Foods is undergoing. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Councilmember Stille invited the public to attend the production of Joseph's Amazing Techno- <br /> 26 colored Dream Coat at the high school. He noted that performances will be taking place <br /> 27 Thursday, July 29, 2004 through Sunday, August 1, 2004. He indicated the similarity of this <br /> 28 performance to Family Services Collaborative, which focuses on youth and promotes interaction <br /> 29 between youths and adults. He suggested this performance provides the youth a chance to <br /> 30 "showcase"their talent in theater. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Councilmember Faust reported his attendance at the Community Picnic in honor of the St. <br /> 33 Anthony's Sister City's visitor from Sweden. He indicated she was presented a plaque for her <br /> 34 level of commitment and leadership to her'community. He stated that she brought with her the <br /> 35 greetings of their Mayor, with an open invitation to visit their community in Sweden. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Councilmember Faust also reported his attendance at the Metropolitan Municipalities meeting <br /> 38 regarding Revenue Policy. He indicated the commission develops and recommends polices, <br /> 39 adding that he"encourages" Council to share any issues regarding financials with him. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Mayor Hodson reminded the public of National Night Out, taking place on August 3, 2004. He <br /> 42 indicated that he is glad to see the amount of participation within the community, adding that he <br /> 43 "appreciates"the residents for their coordination of the planned activities. <br />
