ANTHONY <br /> 2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING <br /> 3 SEPTEMBER 14, 2004 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 CALL TO ORDER <br /> 7 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 10 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen invited the Council and audience to join him in a moment of silence for the <br /> 11 passing of late Mayor Randy Hodson followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 ROLL CALL. <br /> 14 Present: Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen; Councilmembers Horst, Stille, and Faust. <br /> 15 Absent: None. <br /> 16 Also Present: City Manager Mike Mornson and City Attorney Jerome Gilligan. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 CONSIDERATION,DISCUSSION,AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br /> 19 ITEMS. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 I. APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER 14, 2004, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br /> 22 Motion by Councilmember Faust, seconded by Councilmember Stille,to Approve the City <br /> 23 Council Meeting Agenda of September 14, 2004. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 H. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br /> 28 A. Proclamation for St. Anthony Kiwanis Peanut Day. <br /> 29 Councilmember Stille, also a member of Kiwanis, presented the proclamation in reading: <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Whereas,Kiwanis Club of St.Anthony is an organization dedicated to helping community youths <br /> 32 educationally and spiritually, and <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Whereas, the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony is also committed to other community services, and <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Whereas, in order to raise funds for its many and varied*programs the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony <br /> 37 has requested a day be set aside in St. Anthony Village for the sale of peanuts, <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Now, therefore, let it be resolved that the St. Anthony City Council hereby designates Friday, <br /> 40 September 24, 2004 as St. Anthony's Kiwanis Peanuts Day. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Discussion: <br /> 43 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen noted that the St. Anthony Kiwanis is one of the largest fundraisers in <br /> 44 the community, adding that they are very active in events that involve children. He stated that <br /> 45 they also recently donated $2000 to the City for the new electronic message board that will be in <br /> 46 front of the Community Center. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen invited Paul Strom of the St. Anthony Kiwanis forward. <br /> 49 <br />
