City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> November 23, 2004 10 <br /> Page 4 <br /> 1 • The meeting with Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery was held and staff stressed the need to <br /> 2 slow the process to assure all issues are addressed. An open house/public informational <br /> 3 meeting will be scheduled for January. Discussion also occurred on changes to the <br /> 4 proposed sign. <br /> 5 • Quest Development, Apache Medical, 4001 Stinson Boulevard, proposes to renovate the <br /> 6 commercial building to have retail on the lower floor and condos on the top three floors <br /> 7 plus constructing three other buildings. Staff reviewed this application yesterday and <br /> 8 they will proceed with a public hearing on December 21, 2004. <br /> 9 • St. Anthony Market Place is interested in leasing the end cap space, about 3,500 square <br /> 10 feet, for O.'Connor's Irish Pub (sports bar). They are completing due diligence and <br /> 11 making application for the liquor license. This will also be considered in January of 2005 <br /> 12 and will propose, if a restaurant is not built on the Pad lot, a 4,500 square foot retail use. <br /> 13 • Dominion has scheduled a groundbreaking on November 30, 2004 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. <br /> 14 • The Truth in Taxation Hearing is scheduled for November 30, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> 15 • A joint meeting with the School Board has been scheduled on November 30, 2004, at <br /> 16 6:30 p.m. <br /> 17 • The Fire Department applied for a grant from Centerpoint Construction to pay for a <br /> 18 portion of a new Fire Department vehicle. <br /> 19 • The deadline to file for the Planning Commission and Park Commission is November 29, <br /> 20 2004. <br /> 21 • There may be up to three liquor license public hearings held in January or early February, <br /> 22 2005. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Councilmember Horst had no report. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Councilmember Stille apologized for not being in attendance at the last meeting due to an out-of- <br /> 27 town commitment. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Councilmember Stille reported his attendance at a meeting of the Blue Ribbon.Finance <br /> 30 Committee in regard to the school. He stated they will have more to report in January, 2005. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Councilmember Faust reported his attendance on November 18, 2005, at a meeting of the <br /> 33 Association of Metropolitan Municipalities and their adoption of legislative policies. He stated <br /> 34 these are more focused on municipalities when compared to League policies. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Councilmember Faust stated the School District's Blue Ribbon Finance Committee is <br /> 37 progressing. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Councilmember Faust stated he also watched the Planning Commission meeting. He noted the <br /> 40 audio broadcast well and he hopes that will continue to be the case. He stated he also wants to <br /> 41 commend the Planning Commission who have done a lot of work for the City. He stated this <br /> 42 does not go unnoticed and asked Planning Commissioner Gray to bring that message back to the <br /> 43 Commission. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Mayor Pro-tern Thuesen added his thanks to the Planning Commission which, he noted, serves as <br /> 46 a.volunteer for the community. He noted that many issues will face the community in the next <br /> 47 few years as well. <br />
