-2- <br /> Motion by Councilman Makowske and seconded by Councilman Ranallo to approve payment <br /> of all verified claims in .the 'July 31st and August 14th listings presented August 4, • <br /> 1984. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Councilman Makowske indicated that, since the legal fees for the Doppler Radar <br /> project would be paid from donations, she would prefer having those expenses listed <br /> separately in the City Attorney's billing. Mr. Childs indicated he would report <br /> back to the Council just what those fees were' for June and would request Mr. Soth <br /> to list any future costs separately. <br /> Motion by Councilman Makowske and seconded by Councilman Marks (who- had arrived at <br /> approximately 7:35 P.M. ) to approve payment of $3,011 .60 to Dorsey & Whitney for <br /> legal services during June, 1984. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to approve payment <br /> of $1 ,521 .15 to Edward J. Hance for July 11 , 1984 prosecutions. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Manager had included in the February Metropolitan Waste Control billing in the <br /> Council agenda and he verified that the City' s meters had been calibrated in the <br /> manner which the agency' s representative had promised. He added that next year's <br /> billing reflected only a 2% raise, where the City had experienced raises of about <br /> 15% almost every year in the past, and Mr. Childs told Councilman Marks, the City • <br /> has not yet been billed for interest due on delinquent payments . <br /> Motion by Mayor Sundland and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to approve payment of <br /> 526,304. 16 to the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The President of the Ramsey County League of Local Governments in his letter of. <br /> August 6th had welcomed the City into membership in the League and had advised the <br /> next meeting of the organization would be held in the St. Anthony Village Community <br /> Center, August.15, 1984. Mr. Childs commented that now that the League dues for the <br /> City had been decreased to $115, he perceived there would be some advantage in <br /> belonging. Councilman Makowske volunteered to serve as the Council 's representative <br /> at the 'meeting. <br /> 9 <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Ranallo to designate Judy <br /> Makowske and Dick Enrooth to serve as the City's delegate and alternate delegate to <br /> the Ramsey Council League of Local Governments meetings. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Councilman Ranallo suggested changing the title of those serving on the Council from <br /> "Councilman" to. "Councilmember" in deference 'to Mrs. Makowske. The Manager will <br /> research whether formal action has to be taken to implement this recommendation. <br /> Councilman Marks reported he had learned from Congressman Sabo that, under the <br /> recent legislation, HR 6026, the Council could no longer be held liable for damages <br /> under the anti-trust laws, and, if the League of Cities had been firmer in their <br />
