STAFF REPORT <br /> DATE: February 9, 1993 <br /> TO: Planning Commission <br /> FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant <br /> ITEM: CONCEPT REVIEW -- 3901/3909 SILVER LAKE ROAD <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The proposed site plan with ten foot variance is the item for discussion. The people desiring <br /> to take part in this redevelopment would appreciate Planning Commission comments <br /> towards a variance to allow for additional parking. <br /> Section 1635.05, Subd. 7 requires a setback area of not less than 20 feet from any property <br /> in a residential district within which setback area parking, storage and/or loading facilities <br /> are excluded. The variance would be for ten feet of the parking setback from a residential <br /> district. There are two potential advantages of granting a variance: (1) additional parking <br /> area, and (2) the refuse/recycling area would be less visible. In addition, the abutting <br /> residential property is vacant. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Review the proposal and provide input. <br /> • <br />
