Anthony Shopping Center <br /> 9 merchants were very pleased with the turnout for the <br /> 10 hayrides they sponsored and they intend to repeat this <br /> 11 activity for the 1993 holiday season . <br /> 12 - <br /> 13 The deadline for cashing St . Anthony "Dollars" from the <br /> 14 "Shop St . Anthony" Campaign was December 31 , 1992 . The <br /> 15 Chamber of Commerce, who sponsored the campaign , is <br /> 16 requesting a full report on this project by January 31 , <br /> 17 1992 . Urbia will assist in preparing this report for <br /> 18 presentation to the Chamber of Commerce Board of <br /> i9 Directors at the February 2 , 1993 Board Meeting. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 The Chamber had donated $1 , 000 for use in the Campaign . <br /> 22 Apache Mechants had donated about $1 , 400 and <br /> 23 Councilmember Wagner stated the merchants were pleased <br /> 24 with the participation . The Mayor advised that the St . <br /> 25 Anthony Shopping Center merchants had not received `a <br /> 26 return of their $1 , 000 donation . Urbia will also analyze <br /> 27 the locations where the "dollars" were used for his • <br /> 28 summary report . <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Mr . Jim Weehoff , a resident of St . Anthony , suggested <br /> 31 that gift certificates for local businesses should be <br /> 32 considered as a promotional idea in lieu of City employee <br /> 33 salary increases . City Manager Burt advised that St . <br /> 34 Anthonv "Dollars" nor gift certificates do not constitute <br /> 35 legal tender and would not be acceptable to replace <br /> 36 salary increases . <br /> 37 <br /> 38 The City Manager had hoped that St . Anthony "Dollars" <br /> 39 would have been used as holiday gifts and he will pursue <br /> 40 this matter with local businesses in the future . <br /> 41 <br /> 42 The City Manager noted that Mr . Weehoff has also felt <br /> 43 City employees should reside in St . Anthony . This is not <br /> 44 constitutional . Councilmember Enrooth -suggested this is <br /> 45 a State matter and should be pursued on that level of <br /> 46 government . <br /> 47 <br /> 48 D.
