Planning Commission Special Meeting Minutes <br /> January 30, 1996 <br /> Page 10 <br /> 1 in the area, and would need additional signage for Cub at the rear of Cub as 50 percent of customers <br /> 2 would enter by Stinson. <br /> 3 Commissioner Horst stated if the proposed center remains as it is planned, signage would be <br /> 4 adequate. He continued if future plans are realized, signage would need to be increased. <br /> 5 Mr. Jones reiterated that people will enter Cub from Stinson. Mr. Scott responded he would be <br /> 6 unsure of sign placement, and is likely a right-of--way. He continued he would be willing to address <br /> 7 the need if it arises. <br /> 8 Commissioner Franzese indicated a stop sign is located at 39th and Stinson, and when a traffic light <br /> 9 maybe added. Mr. Hamer responded that weather permitting, they will begin installation of the <br /> 10 lights in the Spring of 1996. <br /> 11 Commissioner Gondorchin indicated he did not want to discount additional signage, but felt <br /> 12 SuperValu's judgement should be respected. <br /> 13 Commissioner Franzese asked for clarification of current wall signs and how it coincides with the <br /> 14 proposed package. Mr.Hamer stated City ordinance allows two square feet of wall signage for every <br /> 15 lineal foot, and if in conformance could be dictated in color, size, etc. <br /> 16 Motion by Gondorchin,seconded by Franzese,to recommend Comprehensive Sign Plan for Apache <br /> 17 Plaza. <br /> 18 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 19 Chair Bergstrom stated this concluded the official business,and inquired if there were any questions <br /> 20 from the audience that could be addressed. <br /> 21 Commissioner Franzese invited the audience to come forward to see the site plans and renderings, <br /> 22 and stated Mr. Scott would be available to answer questions. <br /> 23 Mr. Jones inquired when the Rice Creek Watershed hearing would be held. Mr.'Mornson indicated <br /> 24 a date had not been set. Mr. Jones inquired when the TIF hearing was scheduled. Mr. Morrison <br /> 25 stated it would be discussed at the City Council's regular meeting, but not as a public hearing. He <br /> 26 anticipated it would be on the next month's agenda. <br /> 27 VI.
