REPORTS. 15 A. Planning Commission - November 18, 1997. 16 1. St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2420 St. Anthony Blvd., Conditional 17 Use Permit. 18 Planning Commissioner George Thompson was present to report on the issues addressed at the 19 November 18, 1997, Planning Commission meeting. 20 Commissioner Thompson reported that on November 18, 1997, the Planning Commission held 21 a public hearing to consider a conditional use permit request for St. Charles Borromeo 22 Catholic Church. Gerald De Zelar, architect for St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, was 23 present at that meeting and displayed drawings of the site plan, floor plan and the elevations 24 of the proposed addition. He explained that the desire of St. Charles is to construct an 25 addition to the church of a fellowship hall of 12,000 square feet to be located between the 26 existing church and the existing chapel. The addition will be tucked into the property and 27 will result in little imposition to the neighborhood. This issue had been discussed by the 28 Planning Commission on two previous occasions. After further discussion, the public hearing 29 was closed at 7:30 p.m. 30 There was a motion made by Chair Bergstrom, seconded by Commissioner Franzese to 31 recommend approval of the conditional use permit request for St. Charles Borromeo Catholic 32 Church based on: 33 a. The proposed conditional use is specifically listed for the zoning district in which the 34 property is located; 35 b. The proposed conditional use will not be detrimental to the health, safety, or general 36 welfare of persons residing or working in the vicinity or to the values of property in 37 the vicinity; and 38 C. The proposed conditional use is necessary and desirable at the above location; • 39 and subject to the following conditions:
