REVIEW CENTRAL AND.SILVER POINT PARKS WITH WSB,INC.
Hubmer reviewed drawings of the park proposals, and asked the Commission'to move
toward fined'concept plan. In addition, he modified cross-sections of the drawings to
provide Commission members with more information. He also showed the depths of cuts
as compared to current park conditions. He stated that the concern was over installing an
adult softball field.

Wolff asked if a child-sized soccer field could be added. Hubmer replied that yes, this
could be added.

Morris.asked if the two ball fields would be on the same level. Hubmer replied that yes,
the levels would be the same.

Louiselle asked about the depth of the hockey field as compared to that of the softball
field. Hubmer reviewed these dimensions.

Wagner asked the size of the"adult"field. Hubmer answered that this field would
measure 260 to 300 feet.

Wagner stated that Community Service is concerned over the loss of the adult field. He
added that there is presently a shortage of adult fields.

Hubmer asked whether there is a plan for Central Park to install an adult field. Wagner
replied that yes, this is planned, but not in the near future. He stated responses to surveys
have indicated that Silver Point Park is preferred for an adult field.
Louiselle stated that he has observed several games, and believes Silver Point Park is more
adequate for youth games, as it is a smaller space. He stated he hasn't seen an adult game
there.

Lambrecht agreed that Silver Point Park seems smaller than Central Park, and may appear
more family-oriented with its playground and picnic area.

Kosciolek asked about trends in adult softball. Wagner replied that adult softball trends
are maintaining. He added that some interest decreased when it appeared there would be
a lack of field space, but that has reverted back again.

Morris asked how many softball players are St. Anthony residents. Wagner stated that
' softball teams are filed as residents, and most do live or have lived in St. Anthony. He
added that it's not a requirement for softball players to be residents of the City they play
in. He said sports boosters work this way as well.
