HaWCommunity Center. <br /> 3 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 4 Various discussion ensued about organizing a task force to adopt some of the preliminary plans <br /> 5 and suggestions for the building. Sparks agreed to participate in the task force, and to work with <br /> 6 Staff to develop said task force. <br /> 7 Hodson suggested that some old photos-of the community could be retrieved from the archives <br /> 8 and placed around the Community Center for a sense of history. <br /> 9 Cavanaugh noted that there has been a long standing policy with the City to invite residents to <br /> 10 bring in old photos, but there has never been a committee or task force organized to carry out the <br /> I1 project. <br /> 12 Hodson noted that it would be interesting to have a sense of history in the community center with <br /> 13 old photos of farmland and buildings within the community. ,Cavanaugh agreed and suggested <br /> • 14 that this project could be included in the agenda for the task force. <br /> 15 X. REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONS AND STAFF. <br /> 16 None. <br /> 17 XI. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS_ <br /> 18 City Manager's report: <br /> 19 City Manager Michael Mornson reminded the Council of a previous handout regarding the <br /> 20 specific organizations that each Councilmember would be interested in being involved with for <br /> 21 the 2001 year. <br /> 22 _ Morrison noted the positions of Liaison for the Parks Commission and Planning Commission <br /> 23 were originally expected to be on a rotating basis. Ideally;he noted that the liaisons were <br /> 24 anticipated to attend a minimum of one meeting per quarter. <br /> 25 Thuesen, as the Parks Commission Liaison for 2000, noted that he attended most of the meetings <br /> 26 for the Parks Commission. He felt that the Parks Commission was searching for a representative <br /> 27 to attend most or all of the meetings to provide insight and input from a City Councilmember's <br /> 28 prospective. <br /> • 29 Horst noted that, as Planning Commission Liaison,the original intent he believed was to create a <br /> 30 link between the Planning Commission and the City Council. Additionally,the Liaison position <br /> 31 was intended primarily to be a passive participant. The Commission appreciated occasional <br />
